this is another experiment that I did and again I prefer using Movie Maker software..I am definately going to use this technique to make my final outcome..

Music and Dance...
Music and Dance...
Maasai music traditionally consists of rhythms provided by a chorus of vocalists singing harmonies while a song leader, or olaranyani, sings the melody. The olaranyani is usually the singer who can best sing that song, although several individuals may lead a song. The olaranyani begins by singing a line or title (namba) of a song. The group will respond with one unanimous call in acknowledgment, and the olaranyani will sing a verse over the group's rhythmic throat singing. Each song has its specific namba structure based on call and response. Common rhythms are variations of 5/4, 6/4 and 3/4 time signatures. Lyrics follow a typical theme and are often repeated verbatim over time. Neck movements accompany singing. When breathing out the head is leaned forward. The head is tilted back for an inward breath. Overall the effect is one of polyphonic syncopation
Eunoto, the coming of age ceremony of the warrior, can involve ten or more days of singing, dancing and ritual. The warriors of the Il-Oodokilani perform a kind of march-past as well as the adumu, or aigus, sometimes referred as “the jumping dance” by non-Maasai. (both adumu and aigus are Maa verbs meaning "to jump" with adumu meaning "To jump up and down in a dance" Warriors are well known for, and often photographed during, this competitive jumping. A circle is formed by the warriors, and one or two at a time will enter the center to begin jumping while maintaining a narrow posture, never letting their heels touch the ground. Members of the group may raise the pitch of their voices based on the height of the jump.

Cell Animation..
WORKSHOP
in this workshop we had to create a page of different character...here are the characters that I created..
The next step was to pick one character.
I was then put into a group of 3, in which we had to all combine our characters we had choosen and put them into a story board for an animation.

Little animation...
here I have made a little animation and I have used movie maker software..I cut out the shape of men and then put them in right order one by one and start taking pictures and then uploaded them together....I then changed the time duration for each individual images...I changed that to 1second because when you hear the track carefully you will notice that the beat changes in every seconds...I really like that software because its very simple to use compare to after effects...I think it worked out really well but I am sure I can improve it because at the end it missed the beat..there was an option in this software where I could give different effects to it so I used that which worked really well..

After Effects Workshop...
This is what I did in my after effects workshop..I have learnt how to rotate the still image..it was really interesting to learn this techniques but also too many information and that is the reason why I got bit confused..here I have done some screen shots so you can see how i did this animation...
image of paper flower
cut the background by using selection tool |
select middle part of the flower
use actual software to give more effects
here is another small selection of flower which would go on top of the big one....
making sure that the both flowers are in the middle

Thinking of THREE WORDS...
"ETHNIC UP & DOWN"
These are the three words that I have decided to use in my animation...The reason why I choose these three words is because I wanted to relate those three words with my research...as I have said in my research that the masai people dances up and down when they do their traditional dance...
Ethnic:
relating to, or characteristic of a sizable group of people sharing a common and distinctive racial, national, religious, linguistic, or cultural heritage....
Being a member of a particular ethnic group, especially belonging to a national group by heritage or culture but residing outside its national boundaries.....
member of a particular ethnic group, especially one who maintains the language or customs of the group.....
Up:
A lot, on high, in a direction contrary to that of gravity, toward or in a higher place or position, above the opposite of down.....
&:
The character or sign (&) representing the word and...
Down:
From a higher to a lower place or position....

Research...
Masai...
The Maasai (also Masai) are a Nilotic ethic group of semi-nomadic people located in Kenya and northern Tanzania. They are among the most well known of African ethnic groups, due to their distinctive customs and dress and residence near the many game parks of East Africa. They speak Maa, a member of the NiloSaharan language family that is related to Dinka and Nuer, and are also educated in the official languages of Kenya and Tanzania:Swahili and English. The Maasai population has been variously estimated as 377,089 from the 1989 Census or as 453,000 language speakers in Kenya in 1994 and 430,000 in Tanzania in 1993 with a total estimated as "approaching 900,000" Estimates of the respective Maasai populations in both countries are complicated by the remote locations of many villages, and their semi-nomadic nature.
